MORE ABOUT WÃŽCÃŽWITOWIN

Our Story

wîcîwitowin was created with the goal of providing safer and more meaningful occupational therapy services for all people.

Katelyn Favel is a First Nations occupational therapist from Poundmaker Cree Nation. She has experience working in rural and urban centres, primarily in the area of pediatrics and family and community centered care. Katelyn has experience working primarily in educational environments as well as working with families to determine their priorities both inside and outside of the home. She has experience working with: Alberta Education funded supports such as Program Unit Funding (PUF), Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD), and Jordan's Principle funded supports.

Katelyn uses an environmental approach to service delivery, meaning that an individual and/or family's participation in daily life is most often directly impacted by the environments that surround them (the physical, systemic, social and spiritual environments). Katelyn has experience in the areas of school and school readiness skills, sensory and emotional regulation, executive functioning, and activities of daily living (e.g., toileting, feeding etc) to name a few areas she is interested and passionate in supporting.
